After wanting to step out of our comfort zones for a long time, we finally took that initial leap and started our own blog. Welcome to Petal Cottage.

We should probably start with a brief introduction of ourselves. We are Amy and Dan, husband and wife, and parents of two.

We can honestly say the past few years have been interesting, chaotic, exciting, stressful; in fact, we feel we’ve experienced extremes of most emotions. We didn’t really help ourselves with all of this as we decided it would be wise to get married and have children, all while building our own house over 3 years. Life has stabilised a bit more recently now we’re in our forever home, which brings us to this blog. We feel we’ve experienced so much over the past few years. We’re excited to see what life gives going forward. It would be fantastic to share our journey, experiences, ideas, and knowledge with the world. We’re hoping this blog will fuel our creative hunger, and we hope to bring some value to readers of our blog.

The plan with the blog is, well, there isn’t a plan. We want to simply create as much good creative content as possible for you to enjoy and hopefully benefit from. We will be writing about our house, the decor, lifestyle, life hacks, a bit of DIY, and much more. We’re thinking of it as a blank canvas, and we are excited to see it grow and blossom over the coming years.
