After wanting to step out of my comfort zone for a long time, I finally took that initial leap and started my own blog. Welcome to Petal Cottage.

I should probably start with a brief introduction of myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a wife, a mum to a little boy who’s nearly 2, and I work as a full-time primary school teacher. 

I can honestly say the past few years have been interesting, chaotic, exciting, stressful; in fact, I feel I’ve experienced extremes of most emotions. My husband and I didn’t really help ourselves with all of this as we decided it would be wise to get married and have a child, all while building our own house over 3 years. Life has stabilised a bit more recently now we’re in our forever home, which brings me to this blog. I feel I’ve experienced so much over the past few years. I’m excited to see what life gives going forward. It would be fantastic to share my journey, experiences, ideas, and knowledge with the world. I’m hoping this blog will fuel my creative hunger, and I hope to bring some value to readers of my blog.

The plan with the blog is, well, there isn’t a plan. I want to simply create as much good creative content as possible for you to enjoy and hopefully benefit from. I will be writing about our house, the decor, lifestyle, life hacks, a bit of DIY, and much more. I’m thinking of it as a blank canvas, and I am excited to see it grow and blossom over the coming years.
